The Game of Life

#0, by frontine, 15 February 2009 06:59 PM

With the newspaper headlines all featuring Alfie Pattern the 13 year old Dad, it made me think of this as something he should have tried out before giving it a go for realwink

Do any of you remember it? It was a board game where you started off single and then went to Uni, got a job, got married, had children and then retired. Can't remember if you die and go to heaven or notangel, it was a long time ago. Didn't go on as long as Monopoly but gave it a run for it's money.

Used to love that game....but the initial choice, Uni or job market at the very beginning always screwed me up...I'd get to my mid forties with a car full of kids and sod all money and wonder why I didn't take the other route...regardless of which one I actually took....like going to a restaurant and wanting what your wife odered.

Never taught me a thing about life, other than how easy it is to become bankrupt. Would love to know whether this game was based on it's creators life...because if not it could have been mine (apart from all the kids that is...)  grin

Well, I'm all broken up over that man's rights!

I used to have it, but I wasn't a big fan.
Monopoly was always king.
