Help with book

#0, by action-burt1, 24 January 2009 11:56 AM

Kollect-o-maniaks thread about Enid Blyton as stirred a distant memories of a series of books I read when I was a kid.

I would have read them in approximately 1978-80 and they were about a gang of kids that set up a detective agency.

That's all the info I have.smile

Was this the book Burt
synopsis--------------The basicpremise is that three boys, JUPITER JONES (the smart one),and his buddies, BOB ANDREWS and PETE CRENSHAW,set up a detective agency, their secret headquarters is in a housetrailerburied in a junkyard belonging to Jupiter's uncle.
Some of the books were reissued in the late '80's and early'90's, without Alfred Hitchcock's name on them. Constant readerVictoria Esposito-Shea recently purchased the revised editionof #4, the Green Ghost for her young daughter, and they both foundit pretty readable. (They subsequently tore through all Victoria'sold ones, and her daughter was heartbroken to find out that they'realmost impossible to find anymore. However, she has convertedthe downstairs bathroom into a clubhouse, complete with tunnelentrance.) According to Vicky, "As nearly as I can tell fromlooking through the others in the bookstore, the main changesconsist of removing Hitchcock and toning down some of the ickierethnic stereotypes."
