Great Concerts You DIDNT go to????

#0, by fletch-1, 24 January 2009 06:31 AM

I always seem to be 10yrs behind the times....

I didn`t go to see U2 until 1994, but how i wished i`d seen them during the Rattle & Hum tour.

I could`ve gone to see Nirvana when i was 19 in Sydney, but chose not to....

And dammit, why didn`t i go to see Queen in 86 during their last tour!

So, the theme is - in your OWN lifetime, what did you miss out on?

I'd say the Live Aid too, my parents were in London, and my girlfriend came round on a beautiful July day she was...5'11, tanned, long straw blond curls, T-shirt, shorts, legs, legs..legs.....

Best day of my life...

Had to watch the 10 year anniversary highlights to see what I originally missed...

Join the club.  My brother and sister have never been to a concert, either.
If I was old enough, I would have loved to have seen Thin Lizzy (at their late '70s peak, even with the dazzling Gary Moore on guitar), Iron Maiden, Metallica, Nirvana, Gillan, Rainbow and Whitesnake.
In a way, I'm not all that bothered, because I have loads of live rock CDs anyway.  Whenever I listen to them, I turn 'em up loud and imagine I'm at the show, enjoying it all.

Got to be Pink Floyd.   With each passing year I appreciate them more and more and I turned down the chance to see them back in the 80s.  Sigh.

I set up this forum initially in response to being banned for no reason from a badly run nostalgia forum called
" Do You Remember" ...... all my forum mates were banned shortly afterwards for standing up for me.

The guy who runs that site is called Daz,   Im amazed people still keep posting as he slags every new post.
Check out Daz's usual kind of charm.....grin

I couldn't even get on the website to enter the 'draw' for the privilage of trying to get a ticket. Well gutted. I also missed out on the Cream reunion at the RAH. My mate went then proceeded to rub it in that I didn't. PAH! sad

I've been lucky enough to have seen most of the bands that I was really keen on at the time.
My biggest regret was not going to see Metallica before Cliff Burton was tragically killed sad

Duran Duran back in the Hay day, I was too young to go then but I loved them, they were my first love when it comes to bands. I would have loved to have seen Queen too.

I know someone who saw Jimi Hendrix play one of his first gigs here in the UK down in the SouthEnd area he said nothing has compared since, so that would have been good too.

In general though I have been quite lucky and seen most of the bands that I wanted to see over the years even though we caught the Foo Fighters on a bad night, I would like to see them again before Old Man Grohl draws his pensionsmile.
