I had an Atari 1040STFM myself. Best game I had on that was Llamatron by Jeff Minter, crazy game designed by a crazy Hippy.
I remember the Commodore 64 but didn't play anything on it. I did however play games on the ZX Spectrum - please does anyone remember a game on it called Mined Out? I'm begining to think I'm the only one who ever played this game as no-one I've asked has ever heard of it
We got the C64 in 1985 after my brother came 2nd in his class at high school (internal exams).
My favourites were International Karate, The Way Of The Exploding Fist, Uridium, Commando, Who Dares Wins II, Robin Hood and Mission : Elevator. Great games which I was addicted to.
The last time I played on the computer was back in 1994 when my cousin brothers came over from London. Luckily, they brought their own joystick with them so we played doubles on IK. How cool is that?
For me it was the ZX81 then straight to an Acorn Electron.
ZX81 is long gone but I still have the Electron and it still works
I think my cousins had an Electron and a ridiclously annoying rpg called 'Hampstead'....
Does anybody remember "Operation Wolf" on the commodore 64?....I think thats what it was called
We started off with the simple ping-pong,table tennis game(we had endless hours of fun on it) from the late 70,s,then worked our way up.We had a ZX81,all the Spectrums you can think of(they were my favourite computer,Amstrad,Atari,Commodore, and even the short lived Aquarius(the only game we had on the was some rubbish TRON game),but then the Aquarius were rubbish.
.
AQUARIUS
My favourite games were Jet Set Willy,Manic Miner and Sabre Tooth, but all Speccy games were good to us.
SABRE WOLF J.S.WILLY MANIC MINER
Also, i much preferred playing games with a joystick,i never got the hand of these new games controls, lost interest in playing games, even now, cannot get anywhere with the things.

I`ve just bought Call Of Duty 4! A joystick would sure make things easier, kids are too damn FAST these days....
Im still undecided whether to go for the xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3
Can recommend the 360 (and the Wii). Not familiar with the available and forthcoming Playstation exclusive games, although most big releases are multi-platform there are still some one shots.

Anyone remember MSX computers , iv still got my yamaha MSX in the studio. gonna fire it up some day soon see if it still works

Yamaha CX5M MSX-compatible music computer. Released in 1984, thislittle beast offered a built-in FM synthesizer and MIDI IN/OUT ports. It also includes Microsoft Extended BASIC for programming. MSX computers were all the rage in Japan in the mid-1980s. They werebased on a common reference design and ran MSX-DOS -- an earlycommand-line based operating system from Microsoft. The BASICprogramming language was embedded in ROM and all MSX machines featuredat least 32K of memory and a 3.58MHz Zilog Z80 microprocessor.
I remember drooling over a brand new DX7 keyboard in the local music store for about 2 years....nobody could afford the £700 price tag, must have been some finger prints left on them keys before it was eventually shipped on....had to settle for a DX27 (I think that was the one with pressure sensitive keys) some years later...

I still have my com64 boxed up and like new in the attic, with a load of mags i used to get called commodore format,it had a free tape with it every month with a game and some other bits and pieces,i also remember the wolf game i got the light gun just to play it.
I had a ZX81 and then a Commodore 16... Favourite games were Manic Miner (on the Commodore 64), Tutti Frutti on the C16, Elite on the BBC.
Remember when you could buy games on cassette for 1.99 from a rack in the newsagents?
